Antique 6 Bell Music Box with Enamel Bee Strikers by Karrer, c. 1875
About the Item
A lovely quality antique music box made by Karrer of Geneva, Switzerland in c. 1875.
The fully serviced musical movement features a highly attractive arrangement of 6 individually engraved bells struck by colourful enamel bee strikers.
It plays a selection of 8 well-known tunes including ‘Home Sweet Home’, ‘Fledermaus Polka’ and ‘Silver Threads Among the Gold’ as listed on the original tunesheet. The sound is magnificent.
This is housed within a particularly nice case veneered in rosewood and burr walnut, with tulipwood and floral inlays to both the lid and sides.
