The yellow marine sponge, or aplysina fistularis, often called the ‘yellow candle sponge,’ is here appropriately fixed to and antique plinth, probably once a candlestick. From an Italian collection. Perfectly suited for the contemporary or antique-inspired cabinet of curiosities.
