Antique Judaical Sterling Silver Torah Pointer (Yad) 1873

About the Item

This rare antique sterling silver judaical Yad (literally translated from Hebrew as “hand”) or Torah pointer was found in Vienna and survived among other historical religious items (see our listings ). It has a spiral design on the bottom and on the top a royal crown. In the Center there is a Star of David which has a light blue gemstone in it. The Torah pointer is used by Torah reader to follow the reading, that’s why it has a pointing index finger on the tip which helps to follow the text easily.
