Antique & Unique, Hand Carved Wooden Sacred Heart of Christ Sculpture / Statue

Striking and meaningful work of religious art.
This beautifully stylish hand carved and large size Sacred Heart of Christ statue is another one of our recent great finds. In our view the sculptor has perfectly managed to capture both the wisdom and serenity of our Lord Jesus Christ. This large size and carved out of solid teakwood Sacred Heart sculpture is in the best condition possible and it has a marvelous patina. What never seaces to amaze us is how the best sculptors of the early 1900s were capable of perfectly smoothen the surface of their sculptures. In this case too it is done to perfection. What makes this Sacred Heart sculpture extre special are the carved fish decorations in Jesus's robe. Besides being a source of nourishment, the fish is a symbol that recurs frequently in the Holy Scriptures. Early Christians used it as a sign of recognition to indicate the Saviour. It is no coincidence that Jesus makes much use of the metaphor of fishing in his discourses. We could tell you more about His perfect body posture and how this unique sculpture looks great from all angles, but we are certain that you can see that for yourself. What is most important is that this sculpture (and what it stands for) 'speaks to you' or that it 'strikes a cord'. If that is the case then maybe you should be the next custodian of this glorious sculpture.
