Rare Antique and Handcrafted Gothic Revival Bronze Church Altar / Sacristy Bell
About the Item
Great looking and beautiful sounding bronze sacristy bell with a marvelous patina.
With antique church relics as one of our specialties, we are always looking for rare pieces we have never seen before. And when the quality and condition are as good as they are with this bronze sacristy bell then that always lifts our spirit. The marvelous Gothic motifs on top are all made of solid bronze and the legs that bend downward also have beautiful trefoil motifs in their feet. With three bells, three legs and three trefoil motifs this work of ecclesiastical art may symbolize god as trinity in unity. One of the bronze finials on top (connecting the bronze bells with the bronze frame) has at some point in time been replaced, but other than that this rare, useful and highly decorative antique is of museum quality and condition. It not only looks great it also makes a beautiful and warm ringing and resonating sound. Earlier this year an avid collector of rare church relics passed on and we will be offering a part of his marvelous collection here on 1sdtibs.
