5 dial Elegant Victorian Barometer First half of 19th century by P Corti Exeter

About the Item

Literally “Weather Station” (known as a '5 dial' type wheel barometer) incorporates, wheel Barometer with silvered barometer dial finely engraved, encased in a cast bezel and covered with a convex glass, a silvered Fahrenheit alcohol thermometer in arched insert. Below the barometer dial is the knob for positioning the brass hand and at the bottom is a spirit level engraved with the makers name. Mahogany finish case decorated w ebony and brass and with a swan neck pediment. Made in first half of 19th century. NB: I am planning to remove mercury for the safe transit – please bid accordingly! Size app.: 95 cm (roughly 37.4 in) an 25 cm (roughly 10 in) width, 6 cm (roughly 2.4 in) deep. Very good, age wear, losses and scratches. Please study good resolution images for overall cosmetic condition. In person actual painting may appear darker or brighter than in our pictures, strictly depending on sufficient light in your environment. Weight of app. 2.2 kg is going to measure some 4 kg volume weight packed for shipment.
