This is an antique apothecary mortar and pestle. An English, brass chemist's shop aid, dating to the early Victorian period, circa 1850. Quality apothecary aid with superb finish and weight Displays a desirable aged patina with light signs of use Wonderful brass presents bright golden hues and polished reflectivity In bell form, the mortar has a delightful ring, ideal for getting patrons attention in period Tactile pestle with baluster turned finish Substantial in the hand with a combined weight of 2.29kg (5.05 lb) This is a charming antique apothecary mortar and pestle with a delightful bell form and bright brass finish. As useful today as it was nearly 200 years ago, or as fine decorative interest upon the work top. Delivered polished and ready to enjoy.
