Edwardian Mahogany Barograph by Hamilton and Inches, Edinburgh Edwardian mahogany Barograph housed in a bevelled glass display case with satinwood line inlay, standing on a raised, moulded plinth and resting on four pad feet. Eight vacuum chambers upon the brass plate linking the pen arm to the revolving drum and linked to the barometer, silvered dial marked from 28 to 31 inches of mercury with five weather indications, original ‘blued’ steel hand and signed ‘Hamilton and Inches, Edinburgh’. Duel compartment chart drawer and original ink bottle. C.1910 ‘Watchmakers and clockmakers of the world’ by Brian Loomes lists Hamilton and Inches as working in Edinburgh c.1870 to 1900 Clockmakers to the Queen.
