The moulded cross banded, quarter veneered top of rectangular form with a lovely inlaid oval pattern to the central reserve, raised over pull out slide section revealing a writing skiver surface fitted with gorgeous green embossed tooled leather. Raised over moulded frieze with single centred cockbeaded, line inlaid drawer with turned pulls, brass escutcheon and key. Supported on elegantly, tapering square leg, terminating on spade foot, labelled 'Hampton & Sons LTD. Pall Mall East, London.’ Hampton & Sons Hampton & Sons were one of the most prestigious British cabinet makers of the 19th and 20th Century, creating very fine and highly sought after antique furniture renowned for it's fine quality craftsmanship. Reputedly established in 1830, Hampton & Sons began by selling general household and fine furniture in Cranbourn Street, near Covent Garden, London, with their works at 43 Belvedere Road in southeast London.
