Antique Gold Filled Presentation Cane or Walking Stick with Chased Decoration

About the Item

This antique gold-filled and handcrafted presentation walking stick is hallmarked for presumably an English maker and believed to have been made in circa 1910 in the period Edwardian style. The walking stick's handle is clearly engraved that it was "Presented to Robert Hanna by His Mono Road Friends" in period script and dated underneath. Unfortunately the provenance has been lost, so there is no known history regarding Robert Hanna, or the 'Mono Road' identified. The cane itself was likely made in England as stated above, and may be related to a place in Great Britain, but may have been presented to an individual from Mono, Ontario Canada and relates to the roadways surrounding it. The top of the walking stick has a heavily chased gold filled handle with floral decoration and a ribbed banding around the outer rim. The hardwood has been painted in a contrasting red and black which shows wear as presented in the photos.
