About the Item

This is a beautiful and distinctive antique Gentlemans ebonised opera gadget cane walking stick with an exquisite silver watch fashioned into the handle. It bears the makers mark of the world-famous silversmith, Thomas Peter Hewitt, and bears hallmarks for Chester 1899. The watch having a decorative silvered dial and cylinder escapement. The hinged circular glass lid opens to reveal elegant Roman numerals and a splendid enameled background. The watch handle is directly mounted onto a very fine ebonised tempering shaft with its original brass ferrule. It is a lovely item and as such would be appreciated by any collector of watches, walking sticks or canes. Complete with the original keys, one to wind it, the other to change the time. Condition: In excellent condition, been profesionally cleaned and polished and the watch movement serviced by our horologist. Please see photos for confirmation.
