About the Item
Hickory shafted spalding mashie golf club.
A very nice deep face Mashie with hickory shaft and later rubber type grip by A.G. Spalding & Bros. The smooth face head is stamped to the rear with Spalding's 'Anvil' cleek mark, 'Deep Face Mashie', 'Warranted Hand Forged'. Also stamped are the retailers or professionals name 'E Jones special' within an outlined oval. In Britain Spalding's main business seemed to be golf balls more than clubs. On Spalding's clubs a variety of cleek marks were used, the 'anvil' mark was used in their forge in Dysart.
The measurements shown are the length of the shaft with hosel and the width and depth of the face.
