About the Item

Made of soft, smooth, rayon and with an authentic sewn in on three sides "Diamond Head Sportswear" label, this vintage Hawaiian shirt is from the 1960's-1970's. Soft colors of muted blues, yellows, and greens, dominate the color scheme displaying images of surfboards, palm trees, hibiscus, and a couple of dugout "kayak like" Hawaiian canoes (outriggers). In "ready to wear" excellent, cleaned and ironed condition, this shirt shows little signs of wear except for the bottom button, which is a replacement. There is no staining and no fading of the colors. Made of rayon, with wooden buttons, straight horizontal bottom cut (to be worn outside of pants), collar with no stays, and sewn on three sides label sewn (with an image of Diamond Head and palm trees); all indicate vintage manufacture and Made in Hawaii genesis, circa 1960's-1970's. Single breast pocket is "pattern matched" which means the exact shirt pattern continues over the pocket; more expensive for the company to produce, but the result is a more professional and fine tailored look. This is a really fine shirt made of comfortable smooth, soft feeling rayon, with the decorative floral and surfboard theme carried out front and back,. As far as the size is concerned, it is marked "large". A fashionable double pleat to the back allows for additional flexibility. I am 6' 1" 192 pounds and it fits me perfectly and comfortably.
