19th Century Circa 1860 Victorian Miniature English White Terrier Taxidermy

About the Item

A very rare Victorian taxidermy dog, often scaled down by the best naturalist of the period. Also could be the extinct English White Terrier circa 1860 Housed in its original bow fronted and ebonised case on bun feet, with reserve painted gilt bottom border, all the original foliage seems present and correct. The dog has his brass mounted collar. Overall a completely untouched and original example. case 23cm in height 22cm in width 12cm in depth Provence Christie's, Out of the Ordinary, 14.09.2016.
