"Girl and Goose, " Rare Pair of Art Deco Bronze Bookends by Bach
About the Item
Beautifully detailed, with a gorgeous deep patina, this rare pair of bronze bookends by Oscar Bach depict girls holding geese by the neck, like something out of a charming nursery rhyme. The figures were cast separately from and placed in front of the foliate backdrop, so the girls cast a shadow on the screen behind, creating a wonderful sense of three-dimensionality. Each bookend is marked on the reverse with the classic Bach script.
