Exceptional Laquered Two-Sided Screen by Pierre Bobot, France, Art Deco, 1930's

About the Item

Exceptional 2-sided 4-panel lacquered screen by Pierre Bobot (French 1902-1974). Art Deco. One side in color lacquer on a background of golded leaf with a decor of magnola flowers and insects. Signed and monogrammed bottom right. On the back side, "torn" lacquer technique, engraved decor of phenix, birds and butterflies. Dimensions: each panel 50x175cm, overall: 200x175cm This screen is unrestored and shows a number of small scraches/losses (see photos) mostly on the back side. A small restoration would give it back its full luster.
