1930's Shoe Trunk in Brown Canvas, Au Touriste Trunk, Steamer Trunk
About the Item
This magnificent shoe trunk features the very unusual and original "au touriste" motifs canvas, solid brass locks, as well as brass studs and large leather side handles. It still has got its painted French flag on both sides. It also has a very light honey color lozine trim. Its patina is beautiful and warm. It has got very unique style.
Its interior is original too with its 2 removable trays but is missing compartments.
Its bottom is all zinc and still has got its manufacturer's plaque "Au Touriste, Cannes and Monte Carlo".
It is very sought after because of its unusual proportions that give to this piece a very special elegance.
It could be a very nice side table ,night stand or a little wonderful blanket trunk.
