Leather Cartridge Magazine by William Palmer Jones

About the Item

Vintage William P. Jones Leather Cartridge Magazine case. A fine leather shooting cartridge magazine case by William P. Jones of Birmingham. The high quality cartridge case with wooden carcass covered in tan leather, it has a working brass lock but no key. The magazine case is in very good original condition with brass corner protectors, original strap around the case and single leather central carry handle. The interior with oil cloth finish and containing four oak removable dividers, making five compartments, with adjustable leather cartridge lifting straps. The inside of the lid is dark green baize with a William Palmer Jones paper trade label. A cartridge magazine is a traditional method of storing cartridges between shoots. When on a shoot the cartridges needed would be removed and placed in a cartridge bag. The shooting print is sold separately.
