Set of Six Rare Vintage French Cheney Style Honeycombed Aluminum Suitcases
About the Item
A set of six honeycombed aluminum suitcases made in France, ca. 1950s-60s in the distinctive manner of the lightweight travel luggage of C W Cheney and Sons of England. Affixed labels from travel, including the identity of the prior owner, as well as the word "securite" etched on some of the fasteners lead us to believe these are French made.
All but the top cosmetics case were also graduated to nest neatly inside one another for storage when not in use.
Largest case at the bottom of the graduated stack as shown is 27.5" wide x 16.5" deep x 8" high. Smallest suitcase (second from top) is 15.t" wide, 9.5" deep, 5.5" high. The cosmetics case at top is 12" wide, 5.75" deep, 8" high.
