There was a comprehensive exhibition of Pineda's work recently at the Fowler Museum in Los Angeles exhibition -- more than 200 examples -- and illuminating survey of remarkable jewelry designs. Known for his bold designs and ingenious use of gemstones, Pinedaâ??s extraordinary talent and creative vision are evident in his sensual jewelry and outstanding hollowware and tableware.
The Fowler Museum exhibition traced the evolution of Pinedaâ??s work from the 1930s to the 1970s and highlights his important contributions to Mexican modernism as well as to the creation of a Mexican artistic national identity.
