19th Century French Gothic Revival Hall Tree ~ Confiturier
About the Item
19th Century French Gothic Revival Hall Tree ~ Confiturier is an amazing combination of timeless style, efficient space utilization, and handy functionality! Designed to be placed near the entry, it provides a splendid style statement that dates back to the middle of the 12th century at the beginnings of the Gothic movement. Intricate geometric forms mingle with linenfold in panels from top to bottom, and even around the casework of the shallow cabinet below. A convenient drawer and a small surface top the cabinet, with umbrella and cane storage provisions immediately adjacent, which include the original tin drip pan. Five brass hangers allow one to park one's outer wear, with a shelf across the top for hats and the like. Buttress style supports and the aforementioned cabinet and drip pan provide a modicum of depth and visual appeal, yet the entire affair extends out from the wall barely a foot! Hand-crafted with pegged mortise & tenon joinery out of old growth oak to last for generation after generation.
