Antique Arts & Crafts Wall Coat Rack With A Hand Carved & Painted Penguin Colony

About the Item

Unique coatrack with hand carved penguin sculptures and maker's monogram. With the Arts and Crafts era being one of our favourite, we are always thrilled to find antiques from that era. Especially ones that we have never seen before. We were thrilled to find this unique Arts and Crafts coat rack and the fact that it is in such amazing condition made us even happier. Finding antiques in this incredibly good and untouched condition is getting ever harder. This practical size and shape coat rack has an amazing patina, it comes with a perfect set of five brass hooks and the most impressive ofcourse is the hand carved, burnished and hand painted arctic scene in the middle. The combination of the techniques and the combination of the colors of the materials in this work of art make it a true joy to own and to look at. It takes the skills of a true artisan to hand-create such a beautiful scene and we are certain it was with great pride that the maker left his or her initials in the right bottom corner. Unfortunately we don't know who the artist was, but anyone with an eye for quality made art(s and crafts) in general and with an understanding of penguins in particular can see that this artisan was at the top of his or her game when he or she created this wonderful, work-of-art coat rack. To us, penguins are among the coolest and unique animals on god's green earth and they bring joy every time we see them. Thanks to the two original and strong metal hooks on the back, safely mounting this Arts and Crafts gem to your wall can be done in a matter of minutes. If you like this one of a kind antique as much as we do then you will love our price. Especially when taken into account that perfect packing and worldwide delivery from our store to your door in just 4 to 6 days are included in our fair price. Maximum width x height x depth: 35.2 x 10.2 x 6.3 inches. We have a passion for the unique, for quality, for stylish yet practical and for craftsmanship of years gone by. Your purchases will be extremely well packaged and we look forward to serving you (again).
