About the Item
The abstract wall sculpture FOLDWORK – TRIPTYCH by STUDIO BERG appears to be shifting between a three-dimensional line drawing and, when opened, gently evoking the idea of an unfolded altar piece. TRIPTYCH is a hybrid object for placing goods or hanging clothes on it.
The initial idea for the FOLDWORK collection was to provide disregarded and primarily functional products in our household with a new appearance and give them their own personality in order to get them out of the utility rooms into the centre of our living-rooms.
The FOLDWORK – TRIPTYCH was originally developed for the exhibition 'Room With Its Own Rules' at Chamber NYC and is derived from the FOLDWORK collection.

Combining her background in both fine art and design, STUDIO BERG founder Friederike Delius creates unconventional pieces that playfully question our understanding of familiar objects, turning their everyday use into something special. All her design pieces are handcrafted with her team in her own Berlin studio or created in collaboration with small local manufacturers using high quality craftsmanship and carefully selected materials.
