Brazilian Modern Magazine Rack in Copper & Iron by Carlo Hauner, 1950s, Brazil

About the Item

Available today, this Brazilian Modern Magazine Rack made in Copper & Iron by Carlo Hauner & Martin Eisler in the 1950s in Brazil is gorgeous! The magazine rack features a curved metal in black structure with a shiny hammered copper holder. An elegant, sophisticated, attention grabbing piece sure to elevate any room. The piece was quite popular in the fifties as is seen in some of the vintage publications attached. The magazine rack is showcased in our gallery next to a Geraldo de Barros chest of drawers, a Giuseppe Scapinelli armchair and a Abraham Palatinik sculpture and the convo looks stellar. This Brazilian Modern beauty will look spectacular in any Mid-Century Modern, Modern or Contemporary environment and if you are looking for a true collectible piece that reflects Brazilian Modernism in the fifties, look no further! Carlo Hauner (1927-1997) with Martin Eisler (1913-1977) were the primary designers for the iconic Brazilian furniture company Forma. They are most known for well-shaped armchairs made in iron, but the production is far more complex, handcrafted, and extensive. The wood pieces produced by Forma Móveis e Objetos de Arte during 1950 & 1960s in Brazil are highly designed and well-executed. Their narrative spans four countries (Italy, Austria, Brazil, and Argentina) and several decades and their exceptional works are already highly sought-after examples of the vibrant modern design movement in Latin America. Size: H15, W19.3, D5.1 (in) H38, W49, D13 (cm).
