This pair of antique Italian pillows displays a deep red background with Italian metallic applique. It is embroidered with a gold metallic overlay that has aged to a dark gold. Mid-19th century antique velvet pillow with embroidered metallic threads frames each pillow.

19th century Venetian Moorish gold thread embroidery decoration of handmade lace and vintage gold thread trim.
Small delicate and elegant hand-made silk pillow with raised gold wire metallic thread applique bordered with gold metallic fringes.
Measures: 13" wide without the fringes, the fringes are 2" on each side x 10" H x 4"D.
Some loss of velvet on corners, the gilt threads shows wear, some loss of fringes on one velvet.
Age Wear. Beautiful patina. Materials: Velvet, silk, and aged metal. Made in Italy.
