This gem is a one-of-a-kind custom made luxury cushion (pillow) from an exquisite vintage Celine fashion scarf in a very unique and striking pattern.
The French designer brand was founded in 1945 by Céline Vipiana who remained a designer until as recently as 1997. Beginning as a luxury made-to-measure children's shoe business, it was recognisable by its red elephant logo. In the 1960s the brand moved into fashion, sportswear and leather goods such as loafers, gloves and bags, with the 'Luggage Phantom' being one of the iconic 'it bags' of today. The logo has changed with the times as well; from the success of the 60s ‘American sulky’ range - an open two-wheeled cart drawn by a horse used in harness racing - to the current minimalistic, widely spaced out lettering.
In a deep shade of emerald green with a scattered pattern of opulent gold metallic charms in including lucky horseshoes and ornate riding stirrups as trinkets dangling one from another. It has both an equestrian and jewelry treasure feel to it. Detailing various decorative emblems, many with the brand name inscribed with the words ‘Celine Paris’. A racing flag checkered style boarder frames the enclosed picture with a boarder of bold black. A very unusual and interesting find.
Printed on a soft sumptuous cotton with a which feels divine to the touch. Backed in new 100% pure Irish linen, the aristocrat of textiles and certified by the Irish Linen Guild, lined in a layer of natural bamboo wadding, filled with new plush duck feather insert and a concealed zip. The traditional oatmeal color linen is a combination of the unbleached raw colour of the natural flax plant on the weft intertwined with pristine white on the warp, resulting in a beautiful mottled mélange effect.

This cushion is a one-of-a-kind and part of a sustainability project. It has been created from a repurposed, up-cycled, recycled fabric, used with the intentions on promoting a more eco-friendly environment. We both celebrate and cherish the past and take care with rare and precious vintage and antique materials. (this cushion frame can also be reversed back into a scarf and presented in a frame on request)
