Vintage Indian batik Kantha indigo patchwork with Irish linen cushion pillow
Beautiful set of ethnic pillows (cushions). Vintage Indian indigo cotton hand dyed with a traditional and time consuming wood block print pattern backed in 100% pure Irish linen. An exquisite patchwork of complimenting patterns including stylized plant forms and paisley motifs delicately Kantha quilted by hand stitching throughout. The traditional ‘Kantha' technique originates from Bangladesh and the eastern states of India, where women stitch together layer upon layer of old saris intro throws. Backed in new 100% pure Irish linen in natural oatmeal colour, the aristocrat of textiles and certified by the Irish Linen Guild, filled with new plush duck feather insert and a concealed zip. Would go wonderfully with some of our intricately decorated Chinese and Japanese porcelain. Each one is slightly different making it a unique beauty. There are five available.
