The work that goes into such pieces as these is quite complex, the formation of a copper urn in the traditional way consisting of various stages: the melting of the copper scraps, in itself a science, the formation of the initial copper plancha, the precise cutting that is required to form the ingot for the required piece in mind, and after many hours, the final art of hammering or chiseling, all steps to transform just one ingot into a work of art that only extraordinary technical ability and deep understanding (and many coppersmiths would say amor) of the metal could have achieved.
