Vintage American Hooked Rug with Tumbling Block Pattern (18' x 12'-366 x 549 )

About the Item

The “tumbling block” design of simultaneously projecting and receding cubes made up of lozenges in red, royal blue, ecru, straw and light blue is a popular pattern on both American quilts and hooked rugs. This reversing trompe l’oeil pattern also shows a top right to lower left diagonal pattern. Most of the elements are plain, but others show speckled or inner quadrilateral effects. In good condition. Unusual in a large size.
