Vintage Moroccan Berber Tribal Rug or Runner in Geometric Pattern

About the Item

An antique Moroccan Berber rug / runner with a warm patina; in complimentary color shades and a Classic chevron pattern. Composed of hand knotted wool and natural vegetable dyes. "This midcentury carpet runner is a wonderful example of a Moroccan rug, woven with a clean and simple, yet sophisticated composition. In the 1930s Le Corbusier, Alvar Alto, Charles and Ray Eames started incorporating the plush and soft Moroccan rugs into interior spaces as a counterbalance to their sleekly designed leather and chrome furniture. These plush Moroccan rugs carpets were used as protection from the cold as floor and sleeping rugs; however, they have found a place in many homes today. The mid-late 20th century has brought about a renewed appreciation for Mid-Century modernism. Whether we lay rugs on our floors or hang them on walls, these story-filled pieces of art become talismans for our everyday lives. It is this combination of Minimalist utility and magic symbolism that gives the tribal carpets their unique appeal".
