This is an antique Khotan rug from East Turkistan circa 1880s. Three cloud-like central medallions are set against a field of stylized floral forms. Multiple borders frames the field, each with different designs and symbols. Shades of pinks, olives, yellows, browns, and rust gives the rug a soft, earthy palette.
