Mid-20th century geometric brown, blue Samarkand hand knotted wool rug Size: 6'9" × 13'9" (205 × 419 cm) Combining influences from various weaving centers, this vintage rug is a Classic example of the unique Samarkand artistry. Its rich, geometricized design features three framed medallions occupying the main field, surrounded by florals, corner spandrels and multiple borders with patterns exuding both Asian and Middle-Eastern vibes. This richness of motifs is balanced thanks to the elegant color palette of mauve and indigo, finished with touches of brown, beige and camel.
