Antique Chinese Peking Yellow Field Rug
About the Item
This is an antique Peking rug woven in eastern China during the first quarter of the 19th century. The field is designed with six blossoming tree branches strategically placed around the central medallion. The border is comprised of repeating geometric motifs set on a dark blue background color creating an amazing contrast effect. the border and the central medallion give the carpet an overall highly geometric design and feel while the six floral motifs create a balance within the geometric drawing. This rug is in good condition and has been professionally washed.
