Originating from China, circa 1920-1930, this 5x8 antique Chinese Art Deco Peking rug, hand-knotted in wool, features regal floral patterns and borders on a blue field.
On the Design:
Peking rugs were known for unique colors and sizes—most particularly their deep blue and regal Medallion designs for area rugs. This rug features sharply drawn floral patterns and borders. Its design is architectural in the most quintessential 1920s Chinese Deco fashion. Condition:
The pile is low and areas of worn spots in the field. Both ends need to be secured. Both sides are secured. There is no dryness in the foundation. This rug is clean.
