Tibetan sleeping carpet (Khaden)
With medallions composed from clusters of the inedible and sacred Lumpang fruit. The Lumpang symbolizes happiness and longevity thus carpet was originally woven with the purpose of inferring these qualities upon the owner. The golden ground color typically reserved for monastic usage suggests this piece was woven as an offering to a monk.
