About the Item
19th century Moroccan Rabat tribal carpet in a geometric pattern in a gallery/corridor size in red, yellow, turquoise, green, ivory and brown colors. The use of vegetable dyes have produced beautiful shades in earth tone colors in the field and the border. A rare soft red ground carpet from the Moroccan High Atlas mountains. Carpets of this region are distinguished by a very fine weave with multiple borders containing geometric forms in turquoise, green, ivory, blue, and yellow.
Dimensions: 5’ 10” x 14’ 4”
Date of Manufacture: 4th Quarter 19th Century (the 1890s)
Place of Origin: Morocco
