Antique nomadic carpet, hand-knotted from wool.
Afshar rugs are knotted by the Afshar tribe people in Southeast Persia.
In the desert region between the oasis town of Kerman / Kirman and Shiraz lies the settlement area of the Afshari tribe. The original Turkic Afshar populated many regions in Azerbaijan, Afghanistan and Turkey. Afshari rugs usually refer to Iranian-made rugs.
Antique hand-knotted rug.
Design: Bothe Paisely, the motif also occurs in this form on Khamse rugs.

Wear layer: Fine, handspun highland wool. Rarely soft and supple.

Place of manufacture: region around the town of Sirjan, nomadic origin.
Age: approx. 1920 - 40 knotted
Condition: Good condition, freshly washed, short pile in places, restored on all 4 sides. Fringes were renewed a long time ago.
