Antique Dabir Kashan Carpet, Handmade Wool Carpet, Red, Navy, Ivory

About the Item

Dabir Kashan stands among the most virtuoso, highly reputed of the Persian city workshops at the start of the 20th century. This premier example possesses the consummate craftsmanship that made rugs from this workshop so highly sought after, clearly displayed in the extraordinary level of intricacy in its sophisticated teardrop design, a spectacular example of the style that is traditional to the region. The exquisitely nuanced botanical drawing in the piece is enhanced and complimented by the well-chosen, unusually broad range of natural dyes utilized in this beautiful work of art. The extensive use of vegetable dyes is an important advantage of this particular piece as the vast majority of Kashans found on the market are made with chemical dyes and, of course, the pleasure of vegetable dyes is much greater. The artistic merit of this beautiful rug, combined with the fantastic condition of the piece, would make it a wonderful addition to any collection of elegant antique Persian rugs. This Carpet measures: 9' x 12'.
