North West Persian rugs are straddling the Caucasus mountains, Caspian sea and borders with South Asia. Rugs produced in North West Persia represent a convergence of cultures from the Kazakhs and Khazars to the invading Mughals. The region of N. West Persia includes parts of Iran, Azerbaijan and Armenia.
Here is a remarkable antique Oriental rug an antique tribal runner rug on a grand scale, featuring a very desirable, traditional Kurdish design throughout. Large, abstract, geometric figures of red, blue and white abound throughout the fifteen feet of this gorgeous antique runner from North West Persia, punctuated by floral elements and further abstract symbols throughout.
