An antique Persian Dorokhsh carpet from the early 20th century. The dark brown field features squared cartouches enclosing palmettes alternating with palmettes-in-lozenges in offset rows. The ivory main border displays fan palmettes and other floriated motives. This is a finely knotted city carpet from a distinguished town near to Mashad in NE Persia.
