Antique Persian Doroksh Rug with Brown and Beige Floral Patterns

About the Item

Antique Persian rug handwoven from the finest sheep’s wool and colored with all-natural vegetable dyes that are safe for humans and pets. It’s a traditional Doroksh design featuring floral details in brown and beige over an ivory field. It’s a lovely piece to showcase in contemporary and rustic spaces. It has a dimension of 8’6”x 13’ which is ideal for bedrooms, living and dining areas. Doroksh rugs originated in the hills of the Khorassan province of Iran bearing the same name. Its emergence is said to have marked the revival of the great Persian rug in the 19th century after years of war and chaos. Rug weavers took inspiration from designs of the 16th century and made them more extravagant as a way to promote their culture. This sparked the creation of many Fine rugs that appealed greatly to the Western market. IMPORTANT: ACTUAL RUG COLORS MAY VARY FROM PICTURES & DESCRIPTION.
