Handmade Persian Serab Folk Runner in Brown and Blue-Green

About the Item

An antique Persian Serab rug in runner format from the early 20th century. The warm camel-tone brown field spaciously displays a long pole medallion punctuated by geometric lozenges, with stylized small flowers and rustic animals scattered about. The blue-green main border has slanted, sawtooth leaves and rosettes. Such runners were woven by villagers on narrow looms and although specific local attributions are difficult, they are, like this one, honest and authentic folk creations made with quality materials and attention to detail. •Hand knotted in Persia •Wool •One-of-a-kind Measures: 3' 4" x 13' 4"
