About the Item
This is a lovely pair of antique Persian Sarab rugs from the 1960s and each piece measures 3.2 x 5.5 ft. the pair is in excellent condition.
Sarab or Serab is a small village situated in Northwest Iran where a tribe of weavers specialized in handcrafting rugs with geometric and artistic designs. Unlike other rug making centers in ancient Persia, Serab was isolated from the influence of the booming rug commerce because of its remote location high up in the mountains. This allowed Sarab weavers to dictate and keep their own style which made Serab rugs even more desirable.
