Red Antique Persian Sultanabad Carpet

About the Item

This good condition west Persian village carpet shows a large-scale all-over pattern of straw and ivory vertical lozenges and horizontal cartouches, all with complex rosette and leaf patterns. The ground is a soft, lightly abrashed madder red. The vivid grass green main border shows Classic turtle palmettes and there is an ecru botteh chain outermost stripe.
