About the Item

A classic old oriental rug. Features a tight weave in fine soft wool with deep red and dark blue colors. The carpet has a brilliant central medallion and is accented my meticulous floral sprays and a layered border with grape vine motif. 144kpsi (knots per square inch) Sarouk rugs are a type of Persian rug from the Markazi Province. They are typically characterized by a tight weave, short pile height, fine soft wool, a design aesthetic that favors central medallions and artfully articulated floral motifs, and more often than not, a combination of deep red and dark blue as the two most predominant colors.
