About the Item
Mid-Century Modern wall hanging rug by renowned Finnish designer Ritva Puotila for Suomen Käsityön Ystävät ( Freinds of Finnish Handicraft. A fine example of Ritva's work of this period exploring and painting with color in the textile medium. Original label on reverse with title of this work "Metsassa Mattaalla" (In the Woods). There are two dedicated factory made fabric loops on this rug to slide a hanging rod through in order to place on the wall. This rug has only ever hung on a wall - it was never used as a floor rug. Excellent time capsule condition with no flaws whatsoever.
