21st Century Pink 70's Design Rug by Zeki Müren, ca 1950
About the Item
Zeki Müren was known for his unique voice and flamboyant costumes. Müren also signed the decor of the scenes where he performed. He was one of the successful students of the State Academy of Fine Arts at the time.
The motifs he designed in the late 1960s were revived to create a collection of carpets in Isparta. Although most of these carpets have been destroyed or worn out, in the bazaar you can still find pieces in excellent condition like ours.
Shapeless elements, but at the same time in harmony, detach from a pink background confetto, creating a magnetic and mysterious effect. The wool is still thick and shiny.
Müren’s carpets are timeless carpets that tell of a taste and a sensitivity that has no equal. In the history of the oriental carpet, before Müren nobody had ever dared so much.
