This hand knotted silk antique Kayseri Pictorial rug features a central cusped medallion showcasing two Dervish with their master wearing traditional Persian garb. The medallion is surrounded by men or horses. The field is covered with a garden pictorial scene composed of blossoming trees, doves, birds of peace, blooming palmettes, arabesque vines, stylized flowers, and leafy tendrils. Drawing inspiration from Nur Ali Shah and Mostaq Ali Shah combined with ancient history and time-softened colors, this antique silk pictorial rug creates a foundation for an enchanting and heavenly story. It is enclosed with a palmette botanical border flanked with an inner and outer floral meander guard band.
