Antique Turkish Yoruk Kilm, circa 1900

About the Item

Attributed to Yoruk, this flat weave kilim features a tomato red panel in the middle decorated with scattered ivory rossetts framed with a very bright yellow with abstract red lines moving around it.The whole kilim is then surrounded with a beautiful mid blue border designed with carnations flowers.Rugs like this one succeed not by their opulence but by their disarming charm and naivete. This kilim is so visually appealing that it makes a beautiful accent piece for the floor as well as a perfect choice for hanging. As a matter of fact there is virgo swen across the width of the rug for that purpose.there are no restorations on this kilim and it is in great condition.
