Extremely Fine Turkish Silk Herekeh Rug 6'5'' x 9'6''

About the Item

Extremely Fine Turkish Silk Herekeh Rug 6'5'' x 9'6''. A lightly-toned, finely woven Turkish city small carpet in as strongly Kirman-influenced style. The sandy-straw semi-open field shows a complex medallion of flower sprays, boteh leaves, serrated sickle leaves, palmettes and a central light blue-edged octofoil sub-medallion. Arcing flower sprays edge the extended corners. Cream main border with doubled forked arabesques and two types of reversing palmettes. Finer weave than comparable Kermans. Pale blue accents. Very good condition.
